The drug was administered daily and met the primary goal of treating the erectile dysfunction in patients with symptoms of benign hyperplasia. Erectile dysfunction is the inability to perform during the sexual intercourse where as Benign prostatic hyperplasia is the prostate enlargement, which often leads to malfunctioning of urinary system.
The study was conducted with the help of 2.5mg and 5mg daily dosage in men with ED and BPH both. There were 606 men, aged 45 years and sexually active with an experience of ED of at least 3 months and symptoms of BPH of 6 months.

There is an enzyme known as phosphodiesterase type 5 or PDE5 that helps the blood flow in the penile region through vascular relaxation. The idea of this drug was originally of ICOS Corp, which was later acquired by Lilly Corp in 2007. In the second year of this product, the sales were increased by 14 in comparison to the prior year. FDA has approved the drug for daily usage in the treatment of ED and symptoms of BPH.
According to another study, men and women having a sleep disorder also suffer from the sexual problems. The research showed that patients of apnea have a higher rate of sexual dysfunction problems. Breathing is stopped in this period and it causes reduced sleep. A research in Turkey showed that sexual malfunctioning in women and men caused due to apnea is independent of the age. Snoring is a major symptom of apnea. If ED is the ultimate result of apnea, Cialis helps to reduce this problem.
